New CRP Program Available Through USDA

This spring the USDA has opened signup on a new CRP program, CP38E. The main difference between this and past CRP programs is that this program allows for portions of a crop field to be enrolled instead of an entire field. This can allow for pivot corners, individual terrace lands, an eroded slope or similar areas to be enrolled while still maintaining normal cropping practices on the remainder of the field. This could allow for increased profits while enhancing wildlife and improving soil conservation. Details are outlined below, but be sure to visit with your local USDA office before making any decisions about this practice.
